Stockholm is a Super Cool City – Here's Why.
I didn’t expect Stockholm to be what it was. In all honesty, I was expecting something quiet and cute – something very reminiscent of Copenhagen or just the Old Town in Stockholm.

The city has a good mix of narrow, colorful European streets reminiscent in places like Spain, Italy, and the South of France – and also chaotic New York City Energy. Oh, and one of the nicest skylines I’ve ever seen.

Both Monteliusvägen and Fjällgatan offer sweeping views of the city unlike any other city I’ve ever seen before.

Stockholm, while small in size, seems much bigger when you zoom out. It has a distinct blue commuter train that runs throughout the city above ground, several classic European churches poking out in the distance, Belgian style roof tops in conjunction with the same windows I found in Copenhagen, and hills to add to the character… In all the cities I’ve ever been to, it is really one of the most unique skylines I have ever seen.
New York Energy
While I was climbing up the street to get to Monteliusvägen and also walking towards the Old Town, I realized that Stockholm, besides Budapest or maybe London – really encapsulated true New York City energy. Cars beeped at me in a rush to get somewhere, people walked with purpose, and there was something going on somewhere everywhere I turned. I appreciated that energy in combination with Stockholm’s singular views.

If you’re a die hard city boy or girl – Stockholm is definitely a city worth visiting.

In comparison to Copenhagen and Oslo – Stockholm won on the availability of vegan food.

Stockholm has something for everyone. Hippy areas with vegan places, big parks for long summer days with sweeping views by the water, shopping for days on end, and great city and night life.
